I come from a society that considers mental health issues as taboo. Asking for help was out of the question. When I was studying at school, I went through a difficult period that gave me anxiety and several other mental health issues. Not a single person asked me if I was doing okay.
At a point in my life, I went through a sudden trauma that added to my deteriorating mental health. One thing that always stayed with me was that no one asked me if I was okay when I really needed it.
I believe that everyone carries a unique story, shaped by their experiences, relationships, challenges, and aspirations. At times, these experiences can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about the way forward. Having a supportive space to pause, reflect, and process can make all the difference. That’s when I thought of making a world where no one goes through what I went through. A world where no one is left alone. And then, MindsCheq was born.
